52nd Annual Conference of the Indian Hospital Pharmacists' Association (IHPA) was held on 28th January, 2017 at ITS College of Pharmacy, Ghaziabad. Dr. G. N. Singh, Drugs Controller General (India), Prof. S.L Nasa, President IHPA, Mr. Arpit Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S-The Education Group, Mr. Surender Sood, Director PR, Dr S. Sadish Kumar, Director, ITS College of Pharmacy and Mr. R. A. Gupta, Vice President IHPA inaugurated the mega event by lightening the lamp. Eminent speakers from CDSCO & Pharma Industry, Pharmacy teachers, Pharmacists and more than 300 students from various Pharmacy colleges participated in the conference.
Everyone was enthralled by the speech of the Chief Guest, Dr. G. N. Singh. In his speech, he emphasized about the Indian Drug Industry which is now known for its quality, efficacy and producing drugs at cheaper rates in global scenario. He also shed light upon Pharmacovigilance where career opportunities are in plentitude.
Prof. S. L. Nasa in his speech expressed happiness that IHPA has created the demand for the posts of Joint Director, Pharmacy Services in the Directorate General office of the Health services, Govt. of India. Dr. S. Sadish Kumar, Organizing Chairman welcomed the dignitaries & delegates and emphasized on the role of Pharmacists in ensuring patient safety. Mr. Puneet Gupta, Organizing Secretary spoke about the Prescribing Generic medicine & ADR monitoring.
Scientific sessions and Poster presentations were held during the conference. Scientific sessions were Chaired and Co-chaired by the eminent personalities. The best posters in various specializations were awarded. The conference came to an end by the cultural program by the students of I.T.S College of Pharmacy. Concluding remarks were given by Mr. R. A. Gupta, Convener of the Conference.
