The Pharmacology Laboratory is dedicated to the experimental evaluation of drug actions, mechanisms, safety, and therapeutic efficacy. The laboratory provides hands-on training and research exposure in in vitro, in vivo, and alternative pharmacological models, enabling the assessment of dose–response relationships, pharmacodynamic effects, and toxicological profiles. The Pharmacology laboratories are well-equipped with sophisticated instruments, including an elevated plus maze, an ELISA plate reader, a cell analyser, and a narrow beam walk apparatus, to conduct experiments and screenings. Facilities include student organ bath assemblies, rotating drums, and equipment for isolated-tissue studies, such as chicken ileum experiments. The laboratories also house instruments such as the Rotarod, Actophotometer, Electroconvulsometer, Plethysmograph, and Cook’s pole-climbing apparatus for pharmacological evaluations. The Institute has a CPCSEA-approved animal house and provides computer-based simulations and software to enhance learning. Additionally, a Human Anatomy Museum with anatomical charts, models, specimens, and bones supports foundational understanding.
