An orientation program for the freshly admitted 2018-2019 B.Pharm batch was organised at the I.T.S College of Pharmacy on 13th August, 2018 from 9:00 am to 12:15 pm at the Mini Auditorium (Dental Block). The chief guestfor the day was Dr Jai Prakash, Principal Scientific Officer, Indian Pharmacopeia Commission, Ministry of health & family welfare, Government of India.
The session began with a welcome speech highlighting the scope of pharmacy educationby emphasising on the spurt in the dominance of Indian Pharmaceutical companies globally, by the Director, Dr S. Sadish Kumar which was then followed by an engrossing talk accentuatingthe role of pharmacist in society by Mr. Surendra Sood (Director- PR). The session further progressed with an inspirational speech by our chief guest Dr Jai Prakash who motivated students by pointing out various sectors of pharmaceutical industries where there is a dearth for qualified skilled pharmacist. Mr. Ashutosh Dixit (Deputy Director- HR& Admin.) had graced the occasion with his presence and further motivated the students with his encouraging speech. Ms. Gurvindar Kaur (Asst. Prof.) gave a presentation about profession of Pharmacy, detailing infrastructure and facilities at I.T.S College of Pharmacy. Mr. Rajiv Malhotra (HCR & MA) gave an informative presentation on the wide arrays of job opportunities for B.Pharm graduates.
The programme ended up with a vote of thanks by Ms. Rosaline Mishra (Asst. Prof.). The Programme was coordinated by Ms.Nidhi Tyagi, Ms.Smriti Sahu, Ms.Anandi Kapri (Asst. Prof.) and Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma (Associate Professor).
