DST sponsored 3-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC)

Event Description

Department of Science & Technology sponsored Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organized by I.T.S, Mohan Nagar at I.T.S College of Pharmacy, Murad Nagar from 15th November, 2018.  It was attended by 99 B.Pharm. IV year students. In this camp, renowned speakers, successful entrepreneurs, Government officials addressed the students.  The students got exposure about the latest market trends and various government schemes that are available to set up an enterprise. Students acquired knowledge about the concept of entrepreneurship, identification of business ideas so that they could be job providers rather than job seekers.

The program started with the welcome address by Dr. S. Sadish Kumar (Director- Pharmacy) who briefed about the Government’s new initiatives for start-ups.  Dr. Vidya Sekhri (Director-UG), I.T.S-Mohan Nagar Campus felicitated the guests by presenting good luck plants and also addressed the audience.  The inaugural guest Mr. R.K. Panigrahi (Director-MSME) took a session on How to start SSI Unit. Mr. Abhishek Shukla (Co-Founder, Trip Venza Pvt. Ltd) talked about Design thinking-prescriptions for the innovation of products and services.
On the 2nd day, Mr. Ankit Baranwal (Sr. Credit Manager in Union Bank of India) took a session on Finance for Entrepreneurs- How to raise capital & find investors while Mr. Sanjay Kumar (Entrepreneurship Developer, Trainer and Researcher) delivered a speech on entrepreneur motivation and role of NSIC in setting up business unit. The event culminated with the distribution of participation certificates to students. The event was coordinated by Dr. Shalini K. Sawhney (Assoc. Prof.), and assisted by Mr. Prasoon K. Saxena (Asst. Prof.), Dr. Nitin Kumar (Assoc. Prof.), Ms. Madhu Verma (Asst. Prof.), Ms. Sagarika Majhi (Asst. Prof.). All the speakers were presented with good luck plants. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Shalini K. Sawhney (Assoc. Prof.)
Lastly, 99 students visited IDPL, Gurugram as Industrial visit which was part of the camp. They were accompanied by Dr. Nitin Kumar (Assoc. Prof.), Dr. Dinesh Puri (Assoc. Prof.), Mr. Prasoon Kumar Saxena (Asst. Prof.), Ms. Rosaline Mishra (Asst. Prof.), Ms. Moumita Barman  (Asst. Prof.), Mr. Rajiv Malhotra (HCR & MA) and Lab technicians Mr. Amit & Mr. Kapil. The students were shown every step of the formulation of dosage form. Students were exposed to various departments viz. Production, Quality control & Quality Assurance. Students gained immense knowledge from the Industrial visit.
