I.T.S College of Pharmacy organized an 21-day Induction Program from 1st to 21st August 2019 for B.Pharm first year ( Batch 2019-2023) students . This program was conducted as per the guidelines of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow to fulfill the AICTE mandate. The objective of the program was to draw attention towards the problems and challenges being faced by the students at individual, family, society and environmental levels and techniques to handle them. Issues related to the happiness, welfare, aspirations, goals and success in life were explored and dealt with.
The program started at 6 a.m. every day with yoga & physical activities. On the first day, Dr. Sadish Kumar S, Director, I.T.S College of Pharmacy interacted with the freshers, emphasizing on the Research in the field of Pharmacy through academics during the program. Then Vice Chairman, I.T.S-The Education group also motivated & encouraged the students by his speech. The coordinator Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma (Assoc. Prof.) explained the purpose of Induction program and to be positive in all circumstances, Ms. Snigdha Bhardwaj (Asst. Prof.) highlighted about the profession of Pharmacy, detailing about the infrastructure and facilities at I.T.S College of Pharmacy followed by motivational lecture delivered by Dr. Evangeline R Dutta, Public Health Professional, New Delhi to motivate the students. Dr. Anees A Siddiqui briefed the students about the role of pharmacist in society and further applauded them for choosing I.T.S College of Pharmacy as their parent institution to carry out their Bachelor of Pharmacy.
Our trained faculty mentors viz. Mr. Prasoon Kumar Saxena, Ms. Smriti Sahu, Ms. Neelam Singh, Ms. Nidhi Tyagi and Ms. Anandi Kapri (Asst. Professors.) explained the students about human values during Universal Human Value lectures. The students learnt about self, physical facilities, right understanding, relationship, trust and four levels of harmony, i.e. individual level, family level, society level and nature level. The students explored their self and learnt about natural acceptance, which is essentially required to live in harmony with others. The faculty mentors covered all 12 lectures of Universal Human Values in the 21-day program. Students were taken to various labs. in the department.
The students participated in painting, singing, dancing activities in the creative arts session. They cleared their problems in the subjects of Maths, in the proficiency module session. There was an informal interaction with hostellers by faculty mentors every day after the dinner. The session ended at 9.30 p.m. every day.
The Coordinator and 5 faculty mentors were assisted by other faculty and staff members of the college to conduct the program effectively. On the last day, feedback & self evaluation session was organised followed by visit at Syndicate Bank, Stationary & Photoshop, Dental hospital , Surya- hospital Muradnagar & Research laboratory - I.T.S C.D.S.R. Muradnagar.
